Mercado de Artesanías La Ciudadela

Covering over 16,000 square meters, you can plan to spend at least an hour of your time covering the full grounds. Museo Nacional de Antropologia

In English, Museo Nacional de Antropologia translates to “The National Museum of Anthropology.” This museum is home to historical and famous artifacts that date all the way back 100 B.C. during Mexico’s pre-Columbian era. One of the most famous artifacts you’ll find here is the Piedra del Sol, an ancient Aztec sun calendar sculpted into a stone.

If you plan to travel to this museum, be warned that many say you can spend an entire day here. Plan your trip to ensure you’ll be able to see all that this museum has to offer. On Sundays, Mexican residents receive free admission, so it’s advisable to visit on another day of the week.

As a lover of cars, I’m always keeping up with what’s new in the industry by frequently attending car shows all around the world. Although seeing the latest and greatest models can be amazing, sometimes reminiscing on cars’ history can be amazing as well. That’s why it’s a good idea to visit a car museum to unearth the rich history of cars. Below are three car museums around the world you can visit.

Mercedes-Benz Museum, Stuttgart, Germany

This 177,600-square-foot museum boasts over 1,500 exhibits and spans an astonishing nine levels! And there’s a reason why — the Mercedes-Benz Museum is the only car museum in the entire world that has a full comprehensive outline of its more 125 years of auto history. With so much rich history, there is not only one tour, but two tours that each examine the car models made and the history of the company!

The two-hour tours start at the very top of the museum, where visitors are transported back to 1886, where Gottlieb Daimler and Carl Benz developed the first automobiles based from the horse carriage concept. Throughout the tour, you’ll spiral your way down through history — viewing 160 cars in the process. Since there are two tours going on simultaneously, visitors are free to switch between the tours as often as they’d like.

Porsche Museum, Stuttgart, Germany

Once you’ve finished your tour at the Mercedes-Benz Museum, feel free to take a short ride over to the Porsche Museum. This futuristic-looking, $100 million building has about 80 cars on display that showcases the historical and technical achievements of the company. However, the museum’s most recent technological addition features an interactive 12-metre “Porsche Touchwall,” which invites visitors to research the company’s history by browsing through over 3,000 images. What’s even more amazing is that new content is imported daily, so there’s always something new to learn if you’re a frequent visitor!

Not only is the interactive touchwall frequently updated, but the museum presents special exhibitions that are changed on a regular basis as well. In fact starting this summer, “New tracks. Every Destination. Always Porsche.” will be on display from July 25, 2017 to February 25, 2018. According to the Porsche Museum website, “The special exhibition shows the development of the sporty SUV Cayenne across multiple storylines. With a wide range of interactive stations it focuses on off-road driving, fun and suitability for families.”

The Lamborghini Museum, Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy

What better way to experience a car museum than looking at luxurious sports cars all day at the Lamborghini Museum? The museum features cars chosen from Ferruccio Lamborghini’s personal collection: the only 20 Reventón models ever built, the Italian Polizia Stradale, which is one of the world’s fastest police cars; and the Aventador, which made an appearance in “The Dark Knight Rises.” The museum has only been open for about a year, so it’s definitely worth taking a trip!
